NYC, what does punk mean?

In the Spring of 2025, I was assigned a project in my fashion class to create some form of physical media with a subculture. My dad was a punk in his teens, so my youth was filled with car rides listening to The Ramones and The Misfits. Paired with extensive research about the history of punk, I began interviewing punks I met on Canal St in New York City, authentic punks who have a community within the subculture.
